NORTH WALES CRUSADERS CEO has praised the success of the recent schools tournament, the Crusaders Cup.

The competition run by the club’s community section saw eight schools from across the county take to the field at The Rock to compete for the Crusaders Cup.

Over 130 local children were involved in the event, many who had no previous experience of playing rugby league.

The winning boys team came from Ysgol Cefn Mawr with Maes y Llan finishing second, whilst for the girls tournament Ysgol Deinol secured first place with Maes y Llan again taking home the runners-up spot.

Speaking about the event Moulsdale said: “It’s been fantastic to see so many kids engaged with the sport of rugby league and also North Wales Crusaders.

“They’ve all had a fantastic time and some stars of the future have been on show throughout the competition.

“With the community section going from strength to strength, it was important for us to continue this competition and I’d like to thank Simon Williams and Conrad Anderson as well as the club’s community section for helping to organise the day.”
